March 25 - Linocut activity - Brian Fritz (Location at Cleary Commons, Classroom 3)
Just bring your creativity (and design) as you learn the tools and techniques for cutting your own block and making your own prints!
Brian Fritz is a wildlife artist in Howell Michigan who paints birds: local birds, exotic birds, small birds, large birds, seabirds, shorebirds, desert birds, tropical birds, all the birds. He works in acrylic, watercolor, ink, charcoal, pastel, and block print.
Brian says he has been drawing ever since he can remember and started painting about eight years ago.
Brian has participated in numerous art venues and festivals including:
Kensington, Palmer Park, Ann Arbor, Funky Ferndale and Art and Apples in Rochester and is a member of the Guild of Artists and Artisans, Printmakers of Michigan, Printing on Materials and the Livingston Fine Art Association.

This is a fun event where the public can watch artists create a piece of art from start to finish and then bid on a piece of art.
All proceeds support the continuation and expansion of art programs at the Howell Opera House. The art is created by artists on-site during the first 2 & 1/2 hours of the event. There will be a silent auction for the artwork created that evening Everyone is invited to join the Artist Afterglow following the auction.

Off-Center will present 2D and 3D works of art in a variety of media. Artists are encouraged to push the boundaries of art imagery, presenting works that inspire thought, provoke emotion, and induce awe. From the bizarre and emotive to the fantastic and inspirational, this juried exhibition from artists around the country strives to surprise and thrill visitors.

JAN YOUD SOLO MEMORIAL SHOW
Huron Valley Council for the Arts (HVAC) presents a special exhibit featuring the art of the beloved late artist, Jan Youd.
The exhibit takes place at 205 W. Livingston Road, a historic structure built in 1886 as the Highland Methodist Episcopal Church, later converted into the Highland Township public library. It now lives on as a beautiful and functional center for the arts, including a lovely gallery, a store, and art learning area.
