KAREN GEBAROWSKI
Karen (K. Rae) began painting after the birth of her second child at the age of 25, starting with oils in a “Tole Painting” class. Her husband used his woodworking skills to cut out shapes and make plaques out of wood. Karen would paint them with much detail and whimsey. Success came with selling her items at craft shows and brought a second income for her family. Over the years other mediums were explored like acrylic, watercolor, and pastels mostly self-taught through lots of practice and love of learning how to improve her painting skills. A few art classes were taken at Eastern Michigan University upon returning to college after many years. Becoming an elementary teacher at age 43, she now calls herself the “Poster Child for Change” and encourages others to follow their dreams. Karen is the co-owner of Oceanside Seafood in Howell and has painted the countertops and walls with fish and ocean animals.
Thanks so much to Katrina Coy for opening up her home to the Livingston Fine Art Association members. We enjoyed great food and fellowship. Thanks again.
Katrina is the owner of Classic Carpets in Howell.

Details to follow.......

Spend an evening strolling through both floors of the Historic Opera House for 9th Annual Opera Art Live, enjoying drinks from our cash bar and complimentary hors d’oeuvres & desserts while observing artists creating art LIVE on location. The night will end with a silent auction of the artwork followed by an Artist Afterglow.
At 8:30 pm the artists will cease working, at which time the guests can place their final bids for their favorite piece. The bid sheets and art work will then be picked up and all moved to the main level and be set up on tables to find out who won the winning bid for the night. During this time we ask everyone to join our Artist for cocktails and conversation during the Artist Afterglow.
